Coreworx Group – Hazardous Area Inspections

An initial detailed inspection is a mandatory inspection required for all electrical equipment installed for use in a hazardous area. Both the IECEx and Australian hazardous area standards require equipment is installed in accordance with its documentation. Once it has been installed and prior to first use an initial detailed inspection of the equipment and installation must be carried out. The requirements for this initial detailed inspection are outlined in IEC 60079.14, IEC 60079.17, AS/NZS 60079.14 and AS/NZS 60079.17 respectively.
